Sophomore Year 2015

Hello everyone. This semester has sure been busy! This semester I'm taking 18 credits and a part time job which can really keep me busy.
In brief, I'm taking Character Design, Animation 1, Figure Drawing for Animators, CG Modeling, Animal Drawing, and Art History.
I've found that I am starting to really enjoy character design and animation the most because they are two of my strengths and source of enjoyment. I'm trying to build a portfolio of art based on a single story that I develop in all of my classes. My story is called "A Stitch In Time" about a scientist named Morgan who has been rejected by society for his ideas of time travel and more importantly his conceited behavior.  He decides to build a time machine to prove himself and regain his reputation which he does and becomes a great historian, however after years the machine begins to wear down and eventually cracks, sending him through a rift in time to another dimension. In this dimension there are no humans. He ends up being dragged into an ongoing airship battle under the foxy Captain Nadja to fight her arch nemesis, Borislav, but the rift Morgan created is growing and if he doesn't return home soon the two worlds might be torn apart.
It's still a work in progress. :)

Business as usual

Hello everyone! I've been a little busy the past summer. I went to Italy this summer with my school to earn my Art History 2 credit. To earn that credit, I also had to write a term paper and read a book on art history and write a page for every chapter on its content and I just turned it in on Monday. It was a three week trip and each week was in a different place. We started out in Rome, then went to Florence, Ravenna for a day and finally to Venice, my namesake. I think out of all the places we went to I loved Rome the most because at the time we hadn't been to as many galleries and it was the first week so we were all super excited. I also loved the people in Rome and we even got to see the Pope! Twice! Venice I would rate as the prettiest of places we saw because we also got Vaporetto passes to take us to the surrounding islands like Burano, Murano, Torchello, Lido, etc... If you don't know, Burano is where all the pretty colored houses are, Murano is where they make Venetian glass and Lido is where the beach is.

I have also started working downtown for my business again. I changed my location to 6th and Cleveland on the corner in front of LOCO Artisan Caffe. So far I've gotten really good responses to my new location and have had more than 10 commissions, 3 on the spot and the rest from photos.

Here are some photos from the trip and from some of the work I've done recently.

Freshman Year

Hello everyone. I have just finished my first year at LCAD and I loved it! I got all A's and one B from last semester. This summer I'm excited to say I'll be going to Italy with LCAD for my Art History credit for three weeks in Rome, Florence, and Venice so school isn't truly over yet for me.

Here's all of my work up to date. The first is my animation final- a restaurant scene. All the music and sound effects I created, so there is no copy right infringement.
Here's one of my Illustration pieces.
Here's my Maya final. It's a baby Gronckle from How to Train Your Dragon.

Illustration and Sculpture Class

Here are some pieces from my Fundamentals of Illustration class and Portrait, Figure Sculpture.
Here's my exaggerated portrait of Benedict Cumberbatch. This was done with graphite on 500 Cold-press Strathmore board.

This was a two week pose. I didn't get to finish everything I wanted to, but at the time we were still going over a few things like the back and leg muscles.

Here's the portrait I did at the beginning of the class. This one we jumped in and was over the course of three or four weeks.

Animations

Hello everyone. It's been a while. Here are a couple of my animation projects. I love this semester and the classes. I have had such an amazing time. I have a lot of art to share with you.

This is a video I did on my own time. This was my first experiment with claymation.
